Turbo & High Tech Magazine
High efficiency catalytic converters are the key to high output and low
exhaust emissions. According to engine builder Mike Osucha "we recently
built a 396 cu.i. LT1 engine that produced 455 hp with an open exhaust
system. When we installed two Random Technology catalytic converters, the
engine produced 458 hp."
Super Chevy Magazine
The Legal Eagle 1987 Z28 Camaro project car recorded a 12.31-second ET
at 110.86 mph in full emissions-legal trim. In race-ready form, the car
breezed through its mandatory state emissions test with readings of 0.0%
carbon monoxide and 34 parts per million hydrocarbons (Maximum allowable
limits are 1.2% carbon monoxide, 220 parts per million hydrocarbons.).
Chevy High Performance Magazine
LT1 Power Play covered a series of dyno tests using a 460-horsepower 396
cubic inch LT1 engine. With open exhaust, the engine produced 457 lbs/ft
of torque and 455 horsepower. With Random Technology Super High Flow catalytic
converters, the engine cranked out 455 lbs/ft of torque and 458 horsepower.
Sports Compact Car
Project RX-7, in stock form, our Project RX-7 made 95.2hp. With the new
exhaust system in place, (including the Random Technology catalytic converter)
the car pulled 101.9hp, a 6.7hp gain...the HC limit for 1983 model cars
is 150ppm and ours was putting out 1800ppm with the old, dead catalytic
converter. With the new exhaust and cat in place, the same test equipment
read 7ppm.
Popular Hot Rodding Magazine
The Road Rocket 1995 Camaro project car rocketed to a 12.242-second quarter-mile
ET at 113.55 miles per hour. Emissions test results: .00% carbon monoxide,
20 parts per million hydrocarbons.
Corvette Fever Magazine
Switching to a Random Super High Flow converter (in place of original
equipment type) improved the quarter-mile performance of a 1987 Corvette
from 13.79 at 98.72 mph to 13.65 at 100.15 mph.
Chevy Truck Magazine
Installation of a Random Technology Super High Flow converter (in place
of the original equipment type) improved quarter-mile times from 15.97-second
ET at 82.88 to 15.83 at 83.73 miles per hour.
